It's within easy reach to argue that Rubio tied Trump. That's a perfect setup, depending on how you look at it.
Our guys survived to fight another day. Bernie shouldn't need more than token appearances in NH, and desperately needs to start some groundwork elsewhere. My guy just needs to wait.
I don't think that's it. It was the question all along - could people really live with the idea of actually voting for Trunp when it came down to it. Those folks went Rubio. Will be interesting to see if that trend continues. Trump wasn't supposed to win Iowa. So 2nd isn't bad. But Rubio's surge is important.
NH is practically money in the bank. If he can't win it without leaving the state this week, there's no point in carrying on anyway. Got to start hitting other states. Trump is going to straight kill it in the South. A narrow win for Cruz in Cruz Land is not the victory it may appear to some. It's an ill omen for Cruz.
That didn't decide this caucus. The only person happier with Rubio's showing than Rubio himself, is Trump.
Because you think he'll be splitting votes with Cruz, leaving Trump as the "outsider" scooping up the outrage?
I don't know, Trump has suffered a resounding defeat tonight. And Rubio looks unbeatable. Think FoxNews said that. And I hope it sticks.
I disagree. Rubio is a better candidate than Cruz. He is the one Trump was most worried about back in September. Plus Trump completely loses his aura of invincibility with this . He may still win it, but that is gone.
And, the also rans start falling out with Huckabee and O'Malley bowing out, beginning the chase for those extra votes for the front runners.
Rubio won't cut as deeply into Trump's conservative vote as Cruz would, particularly down South. Trump easily contrasts with Rubio. Cruz is Trump-lite, but with less money.
Man, just be like Card, enjoy tonight's results. Celebrate them, even. Invincible hasn't begun, yet. It'll work itself out. Congrats on the win.
