I’m skeptical the dead in the crypts would even be able to escape their tombs if they are raised. You would think those tombs are sealed pretty tightly.

If the NK is in King's Landing who is raising the dead?

Are we convinced the NK is going to King’s landing? Other than him not appearing at the end of episode 2, what other clues/indications were there?

White Walkers can raise the dead, too. That’s why killing them also and immediately destroys any that they’ve raised.

Why would the NK go to King’s Landing?

    Well, what’s there?

    1. The Golden Army of 20k men, and

    2. The skeletons of dead dragons, from the Targaryen reign. Recall how they talked about their bones being used as decoration after they were dead, to intimidate people? Recall the dragon skull the Maester / Cersei’s Hand / the Mountain’s Master used to test his crossbow?

The only reason I think he has to at some point is Danny's vision in Qarth. The iron throne in the dead of winter, unless it's symbolic for her being in winter fell. I don't see how we can have a NK story line and Cersei story line simultaneously for much longer, simply due to time constraints.

Yes, I believe when the group of them went north in season 7 and encountered a small collection of the dead with the walkers.

    I think so.

First scene of the series, in the woods, the “regular” WW killed the young girl and then returned her to life as a wight.

When Jon’s fighting the WW and kills him, all of the dead whom he had raised, and who were also fighting the men with Jon, immediately “exploded” and fell into heaps on the ground.

This is what Jon references in the last episode, as the reason why they need to kill the NK...all of the dead he had raised would then immediately die, too.

I had forgotten this. However I've only seen the NK do an AOE raise the dead Battle of East Watch I think? So for the dead to rise in the crypts, either a WW has to get in there or the NK is around and just raises his hand for the insanity to start.

I really doubt long dead folks can be raised, but I guess we don't know

Saw where the same guy who directed Hardhome and notable other episodes also directed the next one.
