I hope Rory wins every major for the next five years and in every post-tournament presser just says “[uck fay] LIV” and walks out
Pretty much the same way it’s gone for the last decade. The home course advantage has become too big, on both sides of the pond.
I went to the one in Chicago years ago along with a 16 man Ryder cup tourney of our own. Our golf was much more fun. As my friend said, “I didn’t realize I was paying $600 to go listen to golf”. If you aren’t 6’3, I suggest skipping as you couldn’t see anything unless you got to say hole 15 4 hours ahead of time and waited. I could do with just watching the range sessions then be done with it.
I’d like see them play the Ryder and Solheim Cups at the same time on the same course. I think 8 holes of action would be a better fan experience than just action on 4 holes at a time.
I’d like to see a scramble format in one the Friday or Saturday rounds. There’s definitely still a lot of strategy that goes into a scramble and I think it could fun watching guys try wild or impossible shots because they know their teammate is in a safe position on the hole. I’d also like to see both sides appoint an independent 3rd party to set up the courses. I know home course is part of it, but I think you could still afford the home team all the other advantages they get in the event.
LIV coming to The Grove just south of Nashville. Great course. Outdoor patio area is like something from a movie. Ridiculous homes. One home somebody told me the guy paid over 1M just for his windows, some 3 stories.
