    Government counterattack is going well, though I'd wager its mostly Iranian regulars.

    Disbanding the Iraqi military following the war and keeping the professionals out of the rebuilding process was a horrible decision.

    I would think so, maybe not overtly. They're already "big brother" on the block, maybe a situation like Russia and Belarus.

    A setup like that was probably inevitable from the beginning, revolution or not.

    I figure Iran's bad guys aren't as bad as the other bad guys, and bad guy on bad guy violence is usually tolerable. I feel for the people who bought the snake oil we sold them, of course.
