Seems like you guys just came up with a study question for a Master's program: interview supermax life prisoners and simply ask if assisted suicide were legal, would you utilize that route to end your prison term.
as i've said before, i'm against the death penalty, as i think it's still murder. two wrongs (or 50 in this case) don't make a right. that being said, i am entirely contrary to my aclu brethren in that air conditioning and cable tv for prisoners is ridiculous. i understand the balance between rehabilitation and retribution. but in some cases, a one-way boat ticket, a pack of carrot seeds and a hearty handshake is more than enough.

she claims she tried to talk him out of it. I don't know why we should believe her. what is she going to say exactly? "i agree 100% with his actions." btw for a supposed closeted gay guy, the dude certainly gets women to marry him fairly easily.
It's irrelevant whether she tried or not. I can try to talk you out of robbing a bank, but if I'm helping you case it and gather your supplies knowing what you're doing, I'm an accessory.
She did a pretty poor job of distancing herself with the comments she made even if she's not gonna say she agreed with him.
She'll get hammered. Wait, what if she argues battered woman syndrome? I mean, what if she renounces all things Muslim and argues battered woman syndrome? She's the one we can punish. She'll get hammered.

This isn't about retribution. Unless she can resurrect the dead, she needs to do some time. There has to be a consequence to being complicit.
