Follow up to earlier laptop discussion -

1. For a computer that is going to be 99% used at home, is there any difference in the Inspiron versus Latitude? Inspiron will actually allow a little bit bigger screen, which honestly I'd rather have. Seems that Latitude is geared more for travel.

2. For mainly Office/internet program work, is there a big difference between SSD and HDD?

 

Get the bigger screen.

Get the SSD as it is faster, uses less energy a d has no moving parts thus is more durable.

 

Please don’t buy the smaller sceen, and the HDD because I Don’t feel like readiNg a 5,000 word post justifYing your decision.

 

The speed alone makes it better. It’s absolutely noticeable for even a computer used mainly for piddling around.

There’s really no need for HDD anymore unless you have a bunch of high volume files, like movies or music, and need a bunch of cheap storage space. Even then, an external HDD will suffice.

 

Weird story today. We went to the Seinfeld deli today for breakfast. My daughter got fries and they had the old glass ketchup bottles. She's only had experience with squeeze bottles, so she was having a hard time getting the ketchup out. I said, let me see it. The cap was still on it, so I turned it upside down and smacked it on the bottom, it's how I used to get the ketchup out. Well, the cap went flying off after the second smack and the ketchup went flying about 8 feet across the restaurant on some lady's pants. She was pissed and called me a tourist. It was the weirdest thing that's happened to me in a while. She kept going on and on until she left about me being a tourist. I was like, I am a tourist, but I'm from one of the the few places a New Yorker doesn't want to piss off, so give it a rest.

 

11 inch screen, 4gb ram, i3 HDD it is. Found a great deal on a north Korean start up company too.
