Ok, good. Trump throwing a tantrum on Twitter is something you can laugh about. Him trying to burn shit down on the way out is my only concern left.

Sad part is, it would not surprise me if he were invited. Trump loves a good ass kisser.

No one could have foreseen removing all of your cyber security experts because they were not being political pawns for you to help manufacture a narrative to challenge the results of the election could result in vulnerabilities for the nation. Well, no one in Trump's sphere could foresee. And no Republican in office. And so here we are.

Hacks are usually long processes, so they've likely been in for a while.

I wonder what Massive Propaganda Machine he is referring to?

Funny; speaking of propaganda machine; his bio list MSNBC, A Liberal Podcast, and a Liberal Book.

Interesting question: when does news transform into propaganda? Is it like porn, you know it when you see it?

Technically, all media with a point of view (so, all media) is propaganda. In this case, I think he is referring to conservative media, since it is quite literally monolithic in it's ideas right now: whatever Trump wants.

Surprised this hasn’t become a countdown thread yet.

He's POTUS until he is not. Day 1 or Day 1460.5

Very interested on how the Senate goes on the $2,000 payments.

Loeffler and Purdue suddenly don't think this is socialism and will vote for the bill. No one else is in an election, but I wonder if a few Republicans will follow. It's going to be tight.

If they vote on the checks, it'll be with poison pills(section 230 bs, "election integrity", etc) attached

no chance McConnell just does something good for Americans without the political BS

I'm actually against this bill, but hear me out.

IMO, the income threshold is too high. I have been blessed to be employed (actually wish I could hand some off) and am not worrying about making my next mortgage payment or paying the light bill. There are others a lot like me. We do not need an extra $5K right now (or 2,400 for that matter). There are people who need it, possibly more, and I would support a bill with lower $$$ threshold/unemployment factor where they would get more $$$. I just think this is a very poor bill all around.

    And McConnell said no.

Congrats on the clean sweep of DC, Democrats.

Agreed. What is the income threshold?

I am not sure. 30/60? 40/80? I've been playing it through my head and just not sure where it should fall. Should be more of a UI factor IMO.

The difficult part is figuring out the threshold. I'm sure it's based upon last year's tax returns, but the pandemic has hit folks very unequally. I'm making about $65,000 with coaching included and haven't been hit one bit in terms of lost wages. However, someone making $125,000 in 2019 might have taken a huge hit. Unless you wait until this year's W-2s are handed out, this is a tough thing to quantify, but I do see your point.
