If there is all this support for ACA on the right, to which the right doesn't feel these justices went against their values... why does the right keep trying to take down ACA?

 

Pretty simple, their constituents want them to.

 

I am exceedingly confused. You think that people who think GOP appointed justices should rule based on how the GOP thinks are idiots.

But think that a lot of people in your party want to send the ACA up to court.

But then when ACA goes to court, you want the justices to rule... against the wishes of the people that just sent the case up?

So you think the GOP is just full of idiots?

 

Though the right wants to get rid of the ACA, they do not want to put in the effort. They are lazy. They want the SCOTUS to strike it down. The SCOTUS keeps saying no, no, no; if you was to get rid of it then do it legislatively.

 

Why limit this to the GOP? Isn't the purpose of packing the same.

The purpose of court packing is to try to get things struck down. But your response above says things should be done legislatively.

Which is at cross purposes to the idea of court packing.

That's why I'm having a hard time understanding. Y'all wanted to pack the courts... so that they'd do nothing but kick things back to the legislature?

It can't be that simple, because then we're just in a loop, watch:

1. Elected representatives do the will of the people
2. People are idiots
3. Elected representatives do the will of idiots
4. What is done by elected representatives is idiotic, but... see #1.

We'd never break that cycle. Therefore, either #1 or #2 must be false. But you've made them both true.

I disagree that we're in such a cycle, as there is no way we'd survive, as a country, for any meaningful period of time.

 

When did the cycle start? It's not as if it's a new deal. Certain % of dems will always despise Republicans and blame them for everything. Certain % of Republicans will do the same. If the people in the middle had more say and power, the cycle has a chance, but that's not how politics seems to work. Labels and fringes get more attention.

 

It never started, because it doesn't exist. Both parties aren't full of idiots.
