And that is at least trying instead of status quo. I can applaud that. I am not shy to say that I believe it will be our ultimate destination of a unified planet if we don't destroy ourselves.
I have no doubt that a world govt would end up decreasing the quality of life in the United States. We already pay for enough free loaders in this country
Precisely why I carry a pocket translator when I go to Minnesota. Just two totally different languages and cultures. Crazy people call coke soda, believe it or not.
And I don't think the world is ready for a world government, either. But it is coming or we go extinct. One or the other. Might be 100 years (doubtful) or 1000. And when that time comes, I think by then it will be of a huge benefit. Hell, I doubt the USA will still be king of the planet by then.
These people fought wars against each other that spanned generations. They have drastically different cultures. It's very different.
"At least trying" would only be a good thing if one presumed the status quo was bad and that the effort was moving toward something better. Obviously many don't believe that. I'm not sure why that means they aren't interested in moving humanity forward.
Just trying to imagine the level of inefficiency, ineffectiveness, and ineptitude of a world government makes my head hurt.
You misunderstood. I meant that a world government is inevitable. And the only way it doesnt happen is if we axe ourselves a question. Not having a world government doesn't mean we will go extinct. All my conjecture, of course. And cultures are becoming more and more homogeneous. The internet, jet plane travel and a global economy is pushing that now. The USA is practically homogeneous now. Same hotels ad And same restaurants and same clothing and department stores. The only way you can tell you are in Miami or Knoxville is the weather and geography. Oh and the shitty Miami drivers.
