I have watched these folks fighting Israel for over 20 years. I suspect 20 years from today the killing will still be happening. If the moderates REALLY wanted to get rid of these"freedom fighters", they would. I believe the moderate Palestinians endorse the same ideals as Hamas. The gangs here in America could be dealt with, but nobody really wants the 1st Marine Division in their neighborhood.

If it would take the 1st Marine Division to get rid of the gangs, how could moderate Palestinians do it? If Americans don't want the 1st Marine Division in their neighborhood, why would Palestinians want them, or IDF for that matter?

If you can't see how one-sided this is, I don't know how you can even see Palestinians as people.

Those pretending that all Palestinians are Hamas are grossly misinformed.

My point is this...Moderate Palestinians do not want rid of Hamas.

That may be your point, but you haven't supported it.

Do we agree that Hamas has brought death and destruction upon the Palestinian people?

How did Hamas come to represent Gaza?

They don't. They were voted out earlier this year. Right before the rocket attacks. Weird coincidence huh?

They won a decisive majority in 2006, eight years ago.

Context is everything. They were seen to have "success" against Israel in achieving talks towards autonomy. With their influence waning, they have begun trying to pick a fight with Israel again to look powerful to the Palestinians. It is very obvious manipulation, and Israel plays right into it.

I don't believe Israel has ever been in the position to ignore threats.

It'd be nice if they stopped trying the same thing over and over and wondering why nothing changes.

I agree. Hamas should change tactics and seek a real peace.

We know that won't happen. You have to starve them of members and sympathizers.

Nothing is gonna change either way. They are gonna be hunted for blood until none is left to be had. Peace is not an option.
