Around noon Russia admits to moving troops into Crimea, then like 8 hours later Obama say "there will be costs" if Russia interferes with the Ukraine. What am I missing? Is Crimea no longer part of Ukraine? Assuming all is true, if the west backs down in all this, or imposes economic "costs" it will be a disgrace. Putin is always 5 steps ahead of the west it seems, and that is discouraging. Taking the easy out by ceding Crimea to Russia might make sense demographically, but it's the same logic Neville Chamberlin used in Munich. Appeasement isn't how we deal with someone like Putin. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...mits-that-it-has-moved-troops-in-Ukraine.html http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/28/world/europe/ukraine-politics/
http://nyti.ms/1pIcadQ So now apparently the new Prime Minister of Crimea says he's solidified control of the region's police and military forces. He's turned to Russia and is actively asking for Russia's assistance "stabilizing" the region. Obama draws a line in the sand and Putin circumvents it. Also, reports that all internet and telecom have been cut in the region and that 6,000 Russian troops have moved into the region. They're apparently now openly patrolling the streets of Simferpol. This is crazy.
Russia is a country that will have to be obliterated or left alone. Quickly send them to the Stone Age or stay out of it
The United States and Britain “reaffirmed” its commitment to protect Ukraine’s borders in exchange for the nation giving up its nuclear weapons in a little-known treaty known as the “Budapest Memorandum signed by former President Bill Clinton in 1994. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...ement-force-u-s-britain-into-war-with-russia/
