My wife and I bought a pitcher of beer for a table of Air Force at a local wing place. They came over to thank us and we thanked them. They basically told us the same thing, they didn't need any thanks. Really cool guys.

They were trying to run their boats onto the submarine, or near it, in order to allow one or more to jump topside of the submarine, so as to spray paint shit - or to get into the sub via the main ladder. So, imagine several boatloads of hippies, hopped up on socialism, acid and holding aloft their meaningless liberal arts degrees, crammed into a rubber raft with an outboard, and barreling full-tilt toward a submarine. Now, imagine that just as they are on final approach, a couple of Navy Seals jump out of the main ladder, grab sandbags stored topside, and hurling them as hard as they possibly could, directly at the heads of said hippies. Or SEALS coming from opposite side of the pier and ramming their boats with Zodiacs, and if close enough, and timed perfectly, they could actually grab them and throw them in the drink, or full-on tackle them from topside into the water.

Needless to say, no hippies made it topside of any subs, that day.

I imagine that a reenactment of this scene will be playing when God welcomes me into heaven. Except the hippies will also be atheist Democrats who hate America.

    But, I repeat myself.

Oh, before anyone finds this cruel, please know that true cruelty would have been to allow them to get topside, and down the main ladder, because that's when submariners would have been authorized to use force in thwarting them, via "weapons of opportunity".

Basically, once they stepped foot on the mess decks (where the ladder lead), every submariner would have picked up whatever they wanted - hammers, metal, shackles, etc. and literally beat them to death, or damned close to it.

Sept. 11, 2001, one of those very few dates burned into our collective minds for life. I was at my office working at my desk with a TV turned on to CNN as was normal for me to do. So I saw the story unfold from it's earliest broadcast on TV. The initial question was whether it was an accident, a deranged pilot or terrorism. Then when I saw the second plane hit, I said to myself well now we know. It was so surreal and yet hard hitting. I had the thought life for us in the USA had just changed. I called my wife at work and told her what was happening, then later she called to say schools were closing.

I remember being in shock when the first tower started to crumble and a couple of started arguing that it fell. It was so unreal to us that it could fall. Soon after, it sunk in that people were still inside.

I was in a microeconomics class when people's cell phones started ringing. (It was really the beginning of the era when practically everyone had one, but I still didn't. I remember thinking how weird it was that so many people had phones and that they shouldn't be turned on.) At the end of the class another professor came in and informed us that the first plane hit. I decided to go on to PoliSci because I was sure we would be watching coverage. However, the arrogant windbag who was leading the course had other ideas. He came in and announced that a second plane had hit but said it was more important for him to lecture on us US foreign policy as a class than watch the coverage. (He spent the next 45 minutes telling about how missile defense was a colossal waste of money and how it wouldn't have stopped all this.) I regret not walking out of the class and telling him what I thought he could do with his announcement. The 19 year old freshman me was a little more compliant the current version.

Found a HS friend and watched coverage with him for the rest of the day in the student center. Went home and my mom told me that I needed to go out and help my dad on the farm because he had sent the normal milkman home because he was having a nervous breakdown. After I finished with the chores, I went in and helped him finish milking the cows and we listened to 1510 WLAC out of Nashville on the radio.

The Navy better be glad that Paul Watson and his Sea Shepherd group wasn't there. Greenpeace is a bunch of [ussies pay] that lack conviction....

I kid you not the radio station I was listening to this morning on the way to Detroit had two DJs discussing how the memories of those who perished are poorly served by not knowing the truth about what actually happened. The woman just kept saying 'oh my god - this youtube video changed everything for me - I'd never even heard of tower 7, why do they hide that from us? My mind is just blown. Everything is different now. I mean we honor those who died but we should demand the truth for them.' Her male co-host kept hammering home this last point.

I was shocked. And pissed. I hope the idiots are fired.

They're fools. All of them. Green Peace used to come and protest fishery stuff in the Alaskan Strait, all while dumping their sewage raw into the water. They'd also cut crab pots. News flash: Cutting a pot kills more crabs than it saves.

What in the actual ****? It is amazing how much more appealing lies and delusions are to most people.

I would recommend those people check out the popular mechanics article and watch all the videos, but it doesn't sound like they are intelligent enough to get it anyways.
