Agreed. In all honesty, what happens on the local level has a helluva lot more influence on my day to day life than who is occupying the White House.

I didn't have a single conservative friend not melting down in 2012.

No, they have their own sob stories about how Muslim/socialist/leftist traitors are going to destroy America and how a Democrat winning is a sign of impending End Times, etc., etc.

    This is true.

"Play date" is not a new term, at all. Generally, I feel like it is said more by women, but still.

I was honestly surprised someone didn't try to assassinate Obama and greatly relieved when it never materialized. We'll see if Trump gets the same consideration. I don't even remember anyone making fictionalized accounts of an Obama murder like happened with W Bush....

Yeah, women have "play dates" all the time whereby they sit around and drink wine while their kids go crazy with each other.

I will actually agree that I've never seen Facebook this over-the-top. But like I said, I think it's not about just losing as much as it's about the fact that it was A) a surprise and B) Trump and all of the "danger" associated with him. Both are mostly a result of media coverage, more so than "entitlement" IMO

I had some end of days run ins, and how gays were taking over, and we were the new Sodom and Gomorra, and would be delt with similarly.

But no crying. Just grim determination for the rapture.

I'm sure there were people who wanted to do so for Obama, but it's fairly hard to shoot the president unless you want to go down yourself. Trump has sewn the seeds of anger, though, for both sides. I think this could be an ugly time we're getting into.

It wasn't a surprise to anyone not sold out to MSM coverage of the election though... How many cycles have we been through now where two days after the election pundits are dissecting how the pollsters got it "so wrong"?

I'd call the Tea Party one giant hand wringing protest.

I'm afraid you are spot on here... If it happens, all hell will break loose and there will be no winners at all...

I guess my Facebook friends like the MSM. Even the Trump supporters seem pretty surprised

Almost everybody I know has been predicting a Trump win for weeks, if not months on the thought that people weren't responding to pollsters or letting people know how they were going to vote because of all the negative pub Trump was getting.

Well we must run in different circles because the ones I know basically threw up their hands and said "what are you going to do?"

And that is so stupid. Generally these polls are anonymous. Sack up, call it like you see it.

I just think that Trump was the exact wrong guy for the time. We have tensions at an extreme not seen in many years in this country and, instead of a calming influence in the White House, we have perhaps the biggest douser of gasoline on the fire that I've seen enter the Oval Office. As much as the other sides hated the guy, Reagan and Obama were chill and calming personalities in divisive times that headed off things that could've been worse in their time. We have the opposite of them coming to Washington.
