I've grown about a dozen 'tater bugs. Does that count?

And I came home from work yesterday evening with plowing the garden on my mind. And of course, it started raining while I was driving home. No problem. I put on a rain coat and the old straw hat and plowed the Ambrosia corn in the rain. Instead of being a dirt farmer this year, evidently I'm going to be a mud farmer.

I'm certainly not a gardener by any means but I've got some Hawaiian Chili Pepper's going right now. I planted the seeds back in the spring and they're 2-3" tall now.

If I can't have fresh corn, I prefer my corn from a jar.

Like I said, I was flooded out of the gardening business until June. The stuff is coming on, but I'm way behind schedule.

It's not dirt, it's mud. And when it's not mud, it's mostly sand. And it doesn't matter how much you plow in the mud, you cannot get rid of the weeds. When I get a chance to plow those tomatoes, I plan on putting the cages on them. Maybe I can post some pictures then.

Ha! Have you tried sweet potatoes? They do really well in sandy type soils

Sweet potatoes you say? I grew these babies last year. And I don't even like sweet potatoes, but I grew about 1/2 a row last year. A neighbor gave me the plants and I set them out, no fertilizer and not much care and they did this. I gave most of them away. And even worse, I've planted a full row this year, or last week.

Look what a difference a good plowing can make. This is the same tomatoes I photographed this morning. I just got thru plowing them at about dark.
