Gatlinburg fires

Trending on Facebook. Looks bad. Seems like Gatlinburg is surrounded by fires. The smoke is terrible.

 

Heard they're evacuating. How soon will it rain?

Park Vista is on fire.

 

Wate 6 reported that there was a fire close to Dollywood.

 

Wow, that's intense. Folks like the views, but you gotta keep forests cut back from structures. Can't stop a forest fire on a dime.

 

Insane. If it wasn't so tragic I'd say that Butch set it to deflect attention from himself.

 

High winds just took it to the next level today.

 

Apparently, people staying at the Park Vista are trapped in the hotel.

EDIT: I should probably retract this statement, because it's a rumor not reported by a major outlet.

 

Hopefully this rain helps.

Spoke with a buddy whose brother is a firefighter. Said "rain came too late. Most of Gatlinburg is burnt to the ground."
