Expanse season 3 on Prime now

 

Anyone watched Justified? I’m trying to find a new show...thinking about picking it up.

 

It's very entertaining. Elmore Leonard put out a lot of good stuff.

 

Just started watching this. It's decent. Kristen Bell is hot.

 

On the people going missing topic, anybody ever read any of David Paulides stuff or listen to him speak on the disappearances in national parks?

 

I’ve never heard anything about this.

 

Pretty fascinating (and spooky) stuff. Thousands of people vanishing without a trace in geographic clusters within national parks, for decades, and the parks not too accommodating to outsiders investigating.

On the surface, you’d chalk it up as bear attacks or something, but no bodies,no signs of struggle, no clothes, nothing. People with large parties, group members turn around and the person is gone, never to be seen or heard from again.

He’s written a series of books (Missing 411) documenting hundreds of case files of those who’ve gone missing, and the inexplicable circumstances surrounding their disappearances. Entertaining, baffling, worrisome if you’re a camper...

 

That’s some crazy stuff.

 

Interesting. Looks like there is a documentary based off of his books on Amazon. I'm going to have to watch it later.

I'm watching the Netflix documentary on Ted Bundy, which is really good, and the best part is when he excaped from the courthouse in Aspen. The police set up a roadblock and don't find him, but "confiscated 200 pounds of marijuana".

 

Finally got around to Fyre yesterday. Wild.

 

I don’t recall any of that happening. Guess it was all social media stuff I don’t pay attention to.

 

Same. Never heard about it at the time.

Definitely not their target marks.

 

What got me about Fyre is that it was literally - literally - just them paying super models to post on social media, and that was enough to get investors to give them millions of dollars.

I was actually surprisingly impressed that they got as far as they did - as calamitously as it went and ended - given how they had neither any expertise in putting a music festival or any plan beyond “post on social media” + “sell tickets” +”get some tents”.
