Over half the budget is military.

 

Good lord.

 

There's an answer to this, but I'm not sure what it is.

 

I don't really know what to say. It's expensive, important, and growing into a life of it's own, beyond all reason.

 

What percentage of the military budget is actually for, you know, military?

Dead serious. I have no idea.

 

Perhaps war is coming.

 

I just think the President likes to play with big toys.

I pray war isn't coming.

How much of military/defense actually goes to military?

How much goes to contractors?

 

I would imagine the military budget covers a metric crapton of stuff:

VA bills
salaries
buying equipment
R&D to contractors
rent on land
maintaining equipment
training
administrative overhead
etc

 

Exactly. Eisenhower's warning has metastasized to something way, way out of control.

 

Almost everything related to a service or product development is done by contractors in government. The military doesn't develop or manufacture it's tech.

Yeah, if I was president, I would want to fly around in a Chinook and blow shit up with a tank. I would be like a kid, not going to lie.

I would be at some army/air force base shooting stuff all the time. Replace golfing with "blowing shit up".

Yeah, I'd exercise the ol' commander in chief to at least get to fire a tank and/or go on a joy ride in a jet.

 

Not exactly, we're not allowed to talk about 2/3rds of the budget. I do believe military spending is too high.

 

This could be fun.

 

The real issue is the state crime implications. Not a lawyer, but Team Trump needs to tread carefully in their words and narrative.

Unless this is all a hoax and they don't really have proof of the affair.

 

It's been out of control for damned near 70 years, if not longer.
