I'm kinda agreed with him on that lateral. I didn't see how the replay was conclusive. I'd have been ok with it had it been called a lateral on the field, too. Just didn't think the replay shed much light either way
Defender was really close to tipping it as well, or at least on the last replay they showed. Don't think anyone brought it up until Hochuli gave the rambling explanation.
First Super Bowl I can remember where I would be happy to see either team win. Would love Peyton to go out a winner (although winning his last three AFCCGs against the Pats is nice regardless), but I also think the Panthers are just more balanced, and thus better.
I'd love to see Peyton throw for about 350 and 4 TD's on his way to a SB win and ride off in to the sunset. Especially after not faring so well in his career in the playoffs.
There have been a lot of double digit lines in the Super Bowl. The Pats were 12 point favorites over the Giants in '08 and the Rams were two touchdown favorites over the Pats in '02. In the last 25 years there have been 8 instances where a team was favored by 10 or more.
I had looked before you posted just because I was interested, more than I thought there would be, about a 4th of all Super Bowls feature a double digit line. Still just one in the last 13 years and that was an undefeated team against an 8-8 team, we're not dealing with the much disparity here.
Yes. San Diego beat a really good Pittsburgh team on a goal line play at Three Rivers to get there. Wanna say is was Junior Seau that made the play. Steve Young threw 6 TDs, which is ridiculous.
I remember Young having a huge game. Seem to think that he hit Rice on the opening play for like 80 yards. The route was on from the jump.
