Saw Soundgarden for the first time ever at Beale Street Fest about a week before he died. Almost didn’t go as it was Sunday and we were pretty zapped from the weekend. Always go.

 

he played a little back room thing in Nashville one night at one of these “secret bars” or whatever they are called where my buddy was a member. Can’t even remember why I didn’t go. Probably my favorite vocalist ever and I was quite addicted to Audioslave for a minute

 

I saw Audioslave, and by that point they were secure enough to do Soundgarden and Rage stuff. Not the same, but still pretty awesome. Although I didn’t think Cornell’s live voice was as good as his recorded voice
