ESPN reporting Texas AD's wish list is chip Kelly, pete carroll, and mike McCarthy. McCarthy would be a terrible college coach. but this list is pretty laughable. pete carroll is going to leave a super bowl bound team to go to texas?

Have heard some talk of Malzahn, and he apparently had commented in the past that Texas would be his dream job. But with him going to the national title game, I don't think he could leave Auburn until at least after and Texas may not want to wait that long.

 

He also just signed an extension. Any idea what his buyout is?

 

None. I haven't heard that Texas is interested in him, either. Just that he is probably interested in them and is a "hot coach" right now.

 

Seems pretty weird that no one that I've listened to has any idea who is on their list. They were leaking information like crazy until Brown resigned now it's shut tight.

that'd be awesome. jim mora is my prediction and even that seems unlikely. briles signed a contract extension, but i'm not sure that stops texas.

What Briles' buyout? He's on the hook until 2023 so I'd have to think it's a decent amount. I'd not be surprised if there was a 0 buyout to go to NFL and only a buyout to protect themselves from Texas.

 

it's possible they hadn't declared interest before. I think the buyout is $3 mil though

 

Texas being Texas, maybe it is something about U and T being a logo, will probably talk about wishlist names such as Pete Carroll, but end up with someone like Muschamp (sp)
