If my department bills your department for every hour you make stupid requests, you'll stop making stupid requests.

But yea, the general consensus is no.

 

It's needed and can be used for great stuff. But, yuck, not me.

 

Just tying it to hours alone would make a clear point for not wasting time with stupid requests. That's kind of how my work does it. Although it can be translated into money easily enough since the hours stay attached to an employee code.

 

Got to spend about an hour outside the office in the cold in a parking lot across the way due to vintage unexploded ordinance today. It graupeled off and on. Overall, it sucked a bit.
