Yeah, I think stupid stuff like the horse comes up in order to discredit an idea by defining it through the most ridiculous aspect.

OR, maybe there are too many people walking around "offended" by some stupid shit? Are you really offended by a statue? Not you, but seriously, do we even know wtf offended even means anymore?

So you're saying you're offended by their being potentially offended?

Yes. That's how we got "BLM = KKK" on this board

Defining things through the most ridiculous aspect is pretty common practice now.

    Yeah nobody here said that.

And I later explained that. They aren't morally equivalent, one has power, the other doesn't.

Boils down to intent vs action.

VolDad called them a terrorist group, multiple people here compared them to the KKK, then BPV and others went nuclear on me when I called that ridiculous. That's when Card started calling me a "wannabe thug"

I don't think it should be hard to see why growing up as a black person in the middle of all this Confederate Southern pride shit might be uncomfortable.

They've certainly done enough to be labeled that.

I think Charles Barkley's comments on this are pretty accurate.

Which are you saying is worse, intent or action?

That doesn't surprise me. The statues are part of what makes it okay for people to put Confederate flags on their cars and on their walls and say it's about "pride," which is definitely something black people think about.

And I know I and many others have questioned the giant Nathan Bedford Forrest statue on I-65. Yay for founding the KKK

In this case, action. Make no mistake, white supremacist have a far worse agenda and ideology but they are virtually powerless. I don't think BLM or antifa are on par with them from a moral standpoint but they aren't saints. And they do have power in numbers.

It doesn't matter who the statue is, that thing is an affront to art.

Holy shit, it's awful. Whoever got paid to make that should be ashamed
