The Great Bathroom Debate

Safety has been cited both in the OP of this thread and as the state's argument for this law. It's been the main thrust of the argument for this bill, in the national media.

Your position regarding it being based on plumbing seemed like some sort of deflection because there is no pressing reason to override local governments if it is purely about how you prefer bathrooms be segregated. Your response has been that it has been illegal for males to enter a women's room for hundreds of years or whatever, but you didn't share what these laws were. You can share those now and I'll concede that. I have read a few articles that looked for them and couldn't find any that specifically made it illegal.

Your reasoning was due to the alleged indignity your wife and mother would suffer. What would cause this indignity? Why would a trans person using a stall in their restroom be undignified for them? I don't think you've ever really unpacked that.
